Love letter to Fleur Delis Remo

This love dedication was written by hand of Jhun for Dely, expressing his love to Dely whom he met with the story that begin in one day in an early morning of September, Jhun was on his usual routine delivering hot Pan de Sal bread on his bicycle, his father own a bakery business known to the community as “Remo’s Bakery” along Vito Cruz Street in Santa Ana Manila. Jhun is helping his father by retail selling hot Pan de Sal on the street of Palanan, Makati on his bicycle with big can on both side of the bicycle where the hot freshly baked Pan de Sal is stored.

Upon reaching the corner of Bautista Street and Arellano Street Jhun saw a beautiful lady on the window of a house and was mesmerized with her looks, he was riding his bicycle but looking to the lady he saw - he did not noticed that his bicycle was about to fall on the side canal of the street until he did not have the time to recover and fall directly on the waste water of the canal.

Jhun not knowing that the whole incident was seen by Dely who immediately called her mother to help the poor delivery man. When Jhun got up, he knew that most of his Pan de Sal have fallen right to the canal, as he was approached by Dely’s mother for an extending help, he knew that it was a blessing in disguise for him to know Dely and offered the remaining Pan de Sal on the container to Dely’s mother to return the gesture.

That night Jhun could not contain himself but to ask his friends to visit Dely with matching Harana style courting Dely by the window in order to express his love at first sight, a love made for them to spend their life together for 27 years until Jhun passed-away. Although Jhun was not a near perfect husband, Dely dedicated her life only to him and to their children until she died.

At 87 Dely was immobilized due to muscle atrophy, it started as severe arthritis a year ago, on the last 5 years of her life, her health deteriorated until her death bed, a week before her death she lose her appetite in eating, a day before she died she was applied with an NGT, the next day she’s gone. 5 years before her health becomes worst she already acquired a lot at the Loyola Memorial Park Cemetery and a funeral service at St Peter Life Plan, Inc. Thus the family was alleviated with the costly burial. From the time her husband died and when she turns 65 up to 92 she receives both her and her husband’s monthly retirement pension, she was also supported by her son Sotero III and his other working siblings.

Her body was buried at the Loyola Memorial Park Cemetery in Paranaque City together with the exhumed bones of her husband Sotero Miaco Remo Jr from the South Cemetery of Manila City and the ashes remains in an urn of her son Froilan - who died last 1983 and 2011 respectively.
